Pan’s Delight (Haven Hollow, Book 23) - HP Mallory & JR Rain

Winter is coming! Battle is looming and all is not fair in love and war.

This is the 23rd book in the Haven Hollow series. It is a collaboration between HP Mallory and JR Rain. The book falls in the Paranormal Women’s Fiction genre.

This book was quite intense compared to previous books in this series. Poppy’s confused feelings about Marty and Andre are thrown into further turmoil when Andre comes back to the Hollow with the possibility of staying long term to tutor Finn in mastering his burgeoning Magician powers. Some story arcs from the beginning of the series are revisited and loose ends are starting to be tied.

I love the way these characters are developed and how they have grown throughout this series. I feel quite invested in what happens to them. The town of Haven Hollow has also grown and changed throughout the series with the introduction of new residents, new businesses and new skills. Every time I think this series might be nearing its end, a curve ball gets thrown in and a new story arc begins. I have a feeling there are several more books to come and I’m quite looking forward to reading them.

The Haven Hollow series is written from a variety of points of view and features stories from Wanda’s Witchery, Poppy’s Potions, Spook Society, Haven Homes and Remarkable Remedies. They all run in parallel with each other. The reading order so far is:

Shotguns and Shifters (Trailer Park Vampire, Book 1) - HP Mallory & JR Rain

Excellent start to a new supernatural series.

This is the first book in a new PNR series set in the small town of Windy Ridge, the middle of nowhere, USA. What an excellent start to this new series. I raced through it. This is quite unlike anything I’ve read from HP Mallory and JR Rain. So far, it reminds me a little bit of the Midnight Texas series by Charlaine Harris.

Windy Ridge was your average small town with its fair share of ordinary people living ordinary lives. At least it was, until the day that the mysterious red mist rolled in. The town and its inhabitants haven’t been the same since. Half of them lost their minds and disappeared into the woods, never to return. The other half tried the best they could to get on with their new life.

Now a town full of supernaturals and strange creatures, many of whom no longer look human, Windy Ridge has cut itself off from the rest of the world. The residents of this not so ordinary town are just trying to get by without the attention of outsiders, who might just want to put them on a slab while they poke and prod and investigate. It all works beautifully for a year until the day two ordinary humans walk into their midst in the shape of a new sheriff and his nephew. It seems they are here to stay but can they be trusted to keep the town’s secret and keep the townsfolk safe from the outside world?

Kingdom of Deceit (Crown of Lies, Book 3) - HP Mallory & JR Rain

This is the final installment but I want more.

I really enjoyed this book but I raced through it so quickly that it felt like it was over before it had begun. I wasn’t disappointed with the story at all, I just felt that there could have been more and I actually still want more. There is scope for it and the end did feel a little rushed. Once again, this story is packed with action, fighting, politics and a bit of sexual tension. There are non-explicit scenes of a sexual nature.

This is the third and final book in this Historical Fantasy Romance series from HP Mallory and JR Rain. The book is set in a fantasy realm in and around the Kingdom of Woodfall Gath.

Charlotte’s decision to withhold the truth from Nicolo has had some dire consequences. She finds herself on the run and on the wrong side of the Court, unable to get through to Nicolo.

Nicolo is once more under the thrall of Balduin due to their lifelong bond. He is fuelled by rage and wants vengeance. He doesn’t believe a word Charlotte says; she’s broken his heart and now she must pay.

Meanwhile, Woodfall Gath is living a nightmare. With the sadistic Balduin on the throne, nightly purges of the common folk have become routine and dissenters thrown into the dungeons to rot under torture without trial. Fear is rife. Something has to change.

Her Orc Warrior (Black Bear Clan, Book 3) - Zoe Ashwood

Fight and Flight. A spicy monster romance.

I am really enjoying this series. This is the third book in this paranormal monster romance series but each book can be read as a standalone. The story is set in a fantasy world of Orcs and humans. There are very descriptive scenes of a sexual nature between consenting adults.

Zoe Ashwood has an appealing style of writing; it’s easy to get lost in her books. The worldbuilding is great and the characters are relatable. I've read several of her other books and I've enjoyed them all.

Hazel is on the run from the local mafia. She’s stabbed her boss and she may not survive the repercussions of that. Her only option is to take her young daughter and run. The only way out of the city walls is to stay hidden in the back of a wagon, so the corrupt guards can’t report her escape.

Vark is surprised to discover a couple of stowaways in his wagon. He is even more surprised when he realises that one of them is his mate; something he had given up hope of. He will protect her at all costs but she is flighty, scared and trusts no-one. He will have to try and find a way to convince her to stay.

This is a fun and spicy monster romance. If that’s your thing, then you’ll love this series.

The reading order for this series so far:
